Background & History
Program Overview
The goal of the Coalition’s COVID-19 Program is to reduce and/or prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst community residents in medically to underserved areas or populations across Orange County.
Multiple factors influence achieving this overall goal. This includes but is not limited to:
Testing
COVID-19 Testing Facts
Testing continues to be an important way to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It serves as an important tool for tracking and limiting the spread of COVID-19.
There are two different kinds of clinical tests available for COVID-19:
1. Diagnostic testing tells you if you’re currently infected with the COVID-19 virus. the test is done by collecting fluid from your nose or mouth. If the test shows you’re infected, you should isolate to help prevent spread. Testing also helps public health professionals monitor the spread of the disease. There are two types of diagnostic tests:
– Rapid tests – which can be performed in minutes
– Laboratory tests – which can take days to complete.
2. Antibody Testing checks for antibodies in your blood from a prior infection or vaccination.
